The Pharr EDC is empowered to finance all or part of the costs of one or more commercial, industrial and manufacturing enterprises. ![]() The Pharr EDC helped transform a former Wal-Mart store into an enterprise zone creating an exceptionally well-equipped 68,000 square foot one-stop facility where men and women can earn a GED to be trained for better jobs. The Pharr EDC has been responsible for the development of three industrial parks and in 2006, it assisted with developing over 800,000 square feet of industrial space, expected to be completed over the course of eighteen months. Also in the planning stages are two more industrial parks.
